- Emergency facilities are available on a walk-in basis after-hours and on weekends and holidays to provide emergency care when your veterinarian is unavailable
- The daytime practice provides referral services for our primary care veterinarians and their clients in a comprehensive variety of medical disciplines, including: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Cardiology and Oncology
- All animal specialists are board-certified and have completed years of advanced training in their respective disciplines

Carolina Veterinary Specialists offers a rotating small animal internship through the VIRMP Matching Program.
Please note: This internship is for DVM graduates only.

The successfully-matched intern will be an integral part of the hospital with intensive exposure to complicated and interesting small animal cases in both primary and secondary roles. There are weekly case rounds, journal rounds, M&M rounds and monthly topic rounds.
We endeavor to create a constructive, supportive and congenial atmosphere in which to prepare an intern for either further pursuits in academia or entry into private practice. Interns will be given the opportunity to gain the tools and knowledge necessary to practice high-quality veterinary medicine or enter any residency program in North America.

Carolina Veterinary Specialists is committed to the future of veterinary medicine through the education of industry professionals, proudly providing externship opportunities to veterinary students in their third and/or fourth years. Designed for students interested in pursuing internships or for those seeking experience in a specialized discipline, our externship programs offer students exposure to diverse caseloads in busy and progressive referral and emergency hospital settings. Externs will participate directly with clinicians and interns in case management, case-based and journal club rounds, as well as assisting with patient assessment and care.
